External Services
This plugin relies on the ForVoyez API service to generate alt text and metadata for images. When you use this plugin, image data is sent to ForVoyez servers for processing.
ForVoyez API Service: https://forvoyez.com
What is sent, and when:
- When an image is analyzed (from the plugin pages, from the media library or, if you enabled it, after an upload): the image file with its file name, the context and language saved in the plugin settings, the list of fields to generate (title, alt text, caption) and your API key.
- When the plugin reads your remaining credits (on its pages and on the media screens) or checks your API key: your API key.
- With each of these requests: the plugin name and version, in an
X-ForVoyez-Clientheader (for examplewordpress-plugin/1.1.43). It only depends on the plugin version: it is the same on every site.
WordPress adds its usual User-Agent header (WordPress version and site address) to these requests, as it does for every request it sends. The plugin loads no remote script and contacts no other service.
Except for the legal documents below, the links from the plugin pages to forvoyez.com and doc.forvoyez.com carry fixed campaign parameters that name the plugin, the screen and the link. They contain nothing about your site, your account or your API key, and nothing is sent unless you click a link.
By using this plugin, you agree to the following ForVoyez legal documents:
- Terms of Service: https://forvoyez.com/app/legals/terms
- Privacy Policy: https://forvoyez.com/app/legals/privacy-policy
- Legal Notice: https://forvoyez.com/app/legals/legal-notice
Please review these documents to understand how your data is handled when using this plugin. It is important to be aware of these terms as they govern the use of the ForVoyez service which is integral to the functionality of this plugin.
ForVoyez processes the images you submit through this plugin to generate alt text and other metadata. This processing occurs on ForVoyez’s servers and is subject to their data handling practices as outlined in their privacy policy.

Änderungsprotokoll
1.1.43
- Change: the links to forvoyez.com and doc.forvoyez.com in the plugin pages and in this readme carry fixed campaign parameters (where the link is and which link it is), so ForVoyez can tell which links are used. They contain nothing about your site, your account or your API key. The legal links are unchanged.
- Change: requests to the ForVoyez API send the plugin name and version in an
X-ForVoyez-Clientheader (for examplewordpress-plugin/1.1.43), the same on every site. - Change: the „recharge now“ link of the credits widget no longer sends your site address as referrer.
- Change: the External Services section of this readme lists what is sent to ForVoyez, and when.
1.1.42
- Fix: saving the API key now checks that it is a ForVoyez key, so a password filled in by the browser or a truncated paste can no longer replace a working key.
- Fix: browsers and password managers no longer fill a saved password into the API key field.
1.1.41
- Fix: the generated alt text was saved empty (the API field
alternativeTextwas read asalt_text) and replaced any existing alt text. Existing alt texts, titles and captions are never replaced by empty values anymore. - Fix: each request now sends an explicit output schema (title, alternativeText, caption).
- Fix: no image is sent to the ForVoyez API while no API key is configured (manual, bulk, upload and scheduled analysis); an admin notice explains how to add the key.
- Fix: API key verification now uses the ForVoyez /api/tokens endpoint.
- Fix: error messages returned by the ForVoyez API are shown instead of a generic decoding error.
- Fix: analysis only accepts images the current user can edit, and the generated alt text, title and caption are saved as plain text.
- Fix: turning automatic analysis off now stops analyzing (and charging credits for) new uploads.
- Fix: alt texts, titles and captions edited by hand keep their backslashes.
- Fix: the API key is never sent along an HTTP redirect.
- Fix: the sign-up and dashboard links point to the current ForVoyez pages.
- Fix: the media-library bulk action now works when a single image is selected.
- Fix: notifications show apostrophes and accents instead of HTML entities (e.g.
'in French). - Fix: a JavaScript error on the Media Library screens (list and grid).
- Fix: deleting the plugin removes all its settings, temporary data and scheduled analyses, on every site of a network. Alt texts, titles and captions are kept.
- Fix: the media-library notices and the low-credits warning escape their output.
- Fix: French, German and Spanish translations are complete again, including the new messages.
- Change: the admin page styles are bundled with the plugin instead of being loaded from the Tailwind CSS CDN.
- Change: requires PHP 8.0 and WordPress 5.6 or later. Tested up to WordPress 7.1.
