Bloom for Publishers


Provides geotagging capabilities for your content and hyperlocal features for your website that enable your visitors to search and save locations to recieve personalized experiences.
Most features require your organization to be a local news outlet that is registered Bloom.


  • Search for a location to geotag your post.
  • Select and save the location for a post.
  • Readers can view your content nearby a specific location.
  • Readers can view your content within a city or other small region.


  1. Install Bloom for Publishers plugin
  2. Activate the plugin
  3. Register your website on
  4. Go to the Bloom Settings page in WordPress to connect your Bloom account
  5. Begin geotagging content
  6. Enable and create plugins on your website


How do I geotag my Posts?

When creating or editing a Post, scroll down to see a section titled „Post Location.
Search for a location and confirm by selecting a location in the list of results.
When you click the Save or Publish button, your Post will be geotagged with that

Why do some location searches not give results?

The only options shown in the location search results will be specific
addresses and small features. By default, this plugin does not allow to geotag
posts by neighborhood, city, country or any other imprecise location.

How is the location displayed in a Post?

The location you select for a Post is not displayed on the front-end of the
webpage unless if you have a Map, Local Search, or other Bloom plugin enabled. By default, the location is saved as metadata within the page, which means it can be accurately
read by other websites and tools such as search engines and social networks.
