Page View Count

Beschreibung

A beautifully simple to set up plugin that gives site visitors and site owners the ability to quickly and easily see how many people have visited that page or post.

GUTENBERG BLOCK

If you are using the new Gutenberg editor once Page View Count is turned on from the plugins settings page the Global Page View Count meta will show under the sidebar Document Tab. Page View Count can be added to anywhere in your content by doing a block search for ‚Page Views‘ or selecting the block from the Common Blocks menu.

Adding the Page Views block to your content automatically deactivates the Global Page View counter on the post or page. You can then place the counter anywhere in the content and set the alignment for it.

COMPATIBILTY

Compatible with WordPress 5.0+ and backwards to WP 4.6.0. Compatible with Classic Editor plugin with 5.0+ (Gutenberg Deactivated)

FEATURES

  • On the front end it adds an icon and page views count to the bottom or top of pages and posts on your WordPress website.

  • Set the Position of the counter to show at the top of the page or post or at the bottom
  • Set alignment of the counter Left, Right or Centre
  • Set the colour and size of the counter icon
  • Option to use load by Ajax to prevent the count from being cached by caching plugins
  • Option to Manually set / edit total views and views today from Page View Count meta box on any post or page editor

  • All options and settings are point click – absolutely no coding required

DEVELOPERS

On the plugins dashboard in the + Page Views Count Function options box you will find the Page Views Count functions and notes on how to use them.

  • Use to manually add Page views count to any content or object in the theme.
  • Use to add page View Count to any content that is not create using WordPress custom post / taxonomy type.
  • Use to create a custom position of the Page Views Count
  • Functions support echo and return parameters when getting visitor stats on any variable.

TROUBLESHOOTING

  • The number 1 support request we get about the plugin is that it double or triple counts page or post loads. Yes it does and if you see that it is a Red Flag that you have a misconfiguration or bug in your theme or a plugin. Page Views Count does exactly that – counts each time the page or post is loading in the browser – if its counting twice it is because the browser is double loading the page. That is a bad thing and you or your developer needs to fix that.

I only wanted to add counters to two projects on our webpage. I was able to download the plugin, activate it, set the counters for those two projects to match our Google analytics page views, and turn off the counters for the rest of the site in about 10 minutes. It worked as advertised. If you are wondering about compatibility, our site uses a custom monster template cherry frameworks theme, is running WordPress version 5.11 and PHP version 7.2.

On the plus side, this plugin is easy enough to install and configure. However, it doesn't show up on the homepage of my website as i expected it to. This is in WordPress 5.1.

I use this plugin for a long time and I find myself very well P.S. update it with news 1 give the ability to view the counter after reaching tot. display es.10 2 the possibility as mentioned by other users to be able to place the counter where you want high ... low ... right ... before the title ... after the title ... in the comments etc.

The plugin does not display on my site, so I can't really say how well it might work if it did. The admin interface is nice and seems pretty straightforward, so I had high hopes for how it might work. Sadly, nothing. I would like to see two things in a page counter: 1. The ability to change the count from the admin panel. Just because I installed this today, I would prefer to not display to the world that I have only 4 hits. 2. A shortcode to display the thing WHERE and HOW I want. I'll handle all the formatting, colors, etc., and I want the ability to place it exactly where I want it to be. Neither capability is present in this plugin, and while there's instructions on inserting PHP code, presumably in functions.php, I would prefer to pop it into a textbox and set it. From the admin point of view, it seems like a great start. But it actually has to display something to be useful, and I think trying to be clever and "place" it for me can cause problems with some themes.
