Searching for Posts


In custom post type „search post“ that is loaded by default with activation of plugin,
You could choose different searching criteria for posts.

For example,

you are able to choose would you like to search posts by only typing one letter that is placed in title or content of a post or you could search for posts by Categories, Tags or Custom post types or you are able to combine all of these elements.

  • Second screenshot displays shortcode of one searching form.
  • Third screenshot shows the final version of serching form looking from user experience.


  1. Upload to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory
  2. Activate the plugin through the ‚Plugins‘ menu in WordPress
  3. Place <?php echo do_shortcode("[search_post id='id_of_serch_post']"); ?> in index.php or header of your templates


Why should I put the shortcode in index.php file or in header of templates ?

An answer to that question.

Because of the loop in templates. Searching form needs to be exactly above of the default loop of the posts.
