A lightweight, high-performance WordPress plugin for creating custom branded short URLs and managing 301/302 redirects with click counting.

This plugin makes remote requests to „ip-api.com“ (http://ip-api.com) to resolve visitor IP addresses to geographical countries for the redirect logs and analytics dashboard. No personal data is stored externally.

Installation

  1. Upload the shrikant-short-links folder to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory.
  2. Activate the plugin through the ‚Plugins‘ menu in WordPress.
  3. Go to ‚Short Links‘ in the admin menu to manage your short links.

Upon activation, the plugin automatically creates the necessary custom database tables (wp_shrikant_short_links and wp_shrikant_redirect_logs) to store short URL maps and click-stream analytics. An admin submenu named Short Links is added to your dashboard sidebar, where you can instantly create links, view real-time logs, configure target URL rules, split redirections, or use the bulk generator.
