You need two things: this plugin on your site, and the free SnapPress app on your iPhone (iOS 17 or later). The plugin shows a QR code; the app scans it and you are connected.

SnapPress Connect is the official companion plugin for SnapPress — the iOS app that lets you bulk upload photos from your iPhone directly to WordPress. This plugin generates a secure QR code so you can pair your WordPress site with the SnapPress app in seconds, no typing required.

Perfect for bloggers, photographers, and content creators who take photos on their iPhone and publish to WordPress.

Note: SnapPress the iPhone app is made by 37design (Tokyo). It is not related to SnapPress Labels or any label printing product.

This plugin sends nothing in the background. QR codes are generated entirely in your browser and never leave it.

The settings screen offers one optional form: if you cannot connect, you can send us your email address, your site URL, your description of the problem, and the diagnostic details shown on screen. It is sent only when you press the button, and the screen shows you the exact text before you send it. We use it only to reply to you.

Installation

From the WordPress.org directory (recommended):

In WordPress admin, go to Plugins Add New
Search for „SnapPress Connect“
Click Install Now, then Activate
Navigate to Tools SnapPress Connect to generate your QR code

Manual installation:

Download the plugin zip from WordPress.org
Upload the snappress-connect folder to /wp-content/plugins/
Activate the plugin through the Plugins menu in WordPress
Navigate to Tools SnapPress Connect to generate your QR code

What is SnapPress?: SnapPress is an iOS app that lets you bulk upload photos from your iPhone directly to the WordPress media library. Instead of uploading photos one at a time via the WP admin, you can send up to 20 photos with a single tap, as many times as you like. It is made by 37design (Tokyo) and is not related to SnapPress Labels (label printers). Learn more about SnapPress.
Is SnapPress free?: The WordPress plugin (SnapPress Connect) is 100% free. The SnapPress iOS app is free to download and includes a free tier: 10 photos per month on one site. Standard ($0.99/month or $4.99 one-time) removes the monthly limit. Pro ($1.99/month or $9.99 one-time) adds unlimited WordPress sites and video upload. Prices vary by country. See pricing details.
Do I need HTTPS?: Yes. WordPress Application Passwords require HTTPS to be enabled on your site. Most modern hosts provide free SSL via Let’s Encrypt.
Is the QR code safe?: The QR code contains your site URL, username, and an Application Password. It is generated entirely in your browser and is never sent to any external server. Click „Clear“ after scanning to remove the code from the screen.
Can I revoke access?: Yes. Go to Users Profile Application Passwords and delete the „SnapPress“ entry to revoke access at any time.
Does SnapPress support HEIC photos from iPhone?: Yes. SnapPress automatically converts HEIC (iPhone’s default format) to JPEG before uploading so WordPress accepts them without issues. Read the HEIC compatibility guide.
How many photos can I upload at once?: Up to 20 photos per batch. There is no limit on the number of batches, so 100 photos is five taps. On the free tier the total is 10 photos per month. Upload speed depends on your WordPress server and internet connection. See the bulk upload guide.
Can I use it without Jetpack?: Yes. SnapPress does not require Jetpack. It uses the standard WordPress REST API with Application Passwords. See the Jetpack-free workflow.
Does it work with Elementor, Divi, or other page builders?: Yes. SnapPress uploads to the standard WordPress media library, so uploaded photos are available in any theme, page builder, or block editor.
Is an Android version available?: Not yet. SnapPress is currently iPhone-only (iOS 17 or later). Follow snappress.app for updates.
