The Plugin appears to be abandoned (updated 27 August 2016, tested to WP 4.5.13),
but it is still seems to be working pretty well for me (tested with YouYube and 
Vimeo videos).

the function is great, but it made my site unusable, also in a verry random way,
not quite starting when you first use it. i still have no idea whats actually going
on, but when i deactivate the plugin everything works fast again.

This plugin does a huge job that’s for most projects not feasible to custom code.

We install this on most of our sites. It does what it should. Frankly, this functionality
should be built into WordPress. But since it’s not currently, we just use this plugin.
