Woo Store Vacation

Beschreibung

It might be difficult for a store owner to find a time and take a vacation, but when they do they need a plan for their online store.

Store Vacation plugin provides a robust and missing feature of the WooCommerce core out of the box by allowing the site manager to schedule a range of vacation dates and putting eCommerce functionality of the site on pause or hold mode for a certain amount of time.

Pausing your store disables the checkout but keeps your store online and accessible to visitors. You can pause or temporarily close your store by defining a few simple options within a minute or two. This means customers can see your products but can’t purchase them.

If you want to start selling products again, then you can unpause your store at any time by deactivating the Vacation Mode or schedule the plugin which does this behind the scenes for you automatically!

The manual installation method requires downloading the plugin and uploading it to your webserver via your favorite FTP application. The WordPress codex contains instructions on how to do this here.

Updating

Automatic updates should work smoothly, but we still recommend you back up your site.

FAQ

Why you might want to put your store on vacation?

This feature would be helpful in case:

  • You are traveling or ill.
  • You are temporarily unable to run your shop.
  • You need a quick break to catch up on current orders.

Does vacation mode hurt SEO ranking?

Not at all! Unlike similar eCommerce platforms, the plugin is intended to keep your search engine rank intact and enabling this feature will not impact your place on SERP (Search engine results page).

Similar tricks such as increasing your delivery time with respect to the number of days you are taking a vacation are not necessary, and you may schedule your shop to be closed at any time.

Where do I find the plugin’s settings page?

  1. Log into your WordPress website dashboard.
  2. Navigate to “WooCommerce” » “Store Vacation”.

How do I set up my vacation dates?

  1. Navigate to “WooCommerce” » “Store Vacation”.
  2. Check the checkbox “Set Vacation Mode” to enable vacation mode in your shop.
  3. Enter the “Start Date” — first day where the shop will be closed.
  4. Enter the “End Date” — first day where the shop will be re-opened.
  5. Optionally, fill in a temporary shop announcement or vacation message.
  6. Click “Save Changes”.

What does “Disable Purchase” checkbox do?

Enabling this option will disable eCommerce functionality and takes out the cart, checkout process and add to cart buttons with disabling purchases for all users whether they’re logged in or not.

Why there is no message displaying on my theme!?

This is mainly because the theme author of yours has been overridden WooCommerce template files and modified the default order of the hooks in the shop and product view page — Consider switching to the “Storefront” theme.

How do I get help with the plugin?

The easiest way to receive support is to “Create a new topic” by visiting Community Forums page here.

Make sure to check the “Notify me of follow-up replies via email” checkbox to receive notifications, as soon as a reply posted to your question or inquiry.

Please note that this is an opensource 100% volunteer project, and it’s not unusual to get reply days or even weeks later.

Does this plugin supports WPML?

Yes. The plugin is translation-ready and has a config file to support both WPML and Polylang plugins fully.

Can I help in translating this plugin into a new language?

The plugin is fully translation-ready and localized using the GNU framework, and translators are welcome to contribute to the plugin.

They tried to put some type of third-party checkout link on one of my sites.

Unfortunately mixed effects. My appointable products store still displayed all the products but single product page did not have book a date. However my gift card products allowed me to go through the process of designing / applying amounts before telling me it was unavailable-sorry on "Add To Cart". The text stating the reasons for vacation etc, did not appear anywhere on the pages, main store, cart, single product. A bit baffled as to what this plugin is actually supposed to do. Probably easier to write some code to hide store and cart from the menu and redirect from products / single.

It does not work at all. Best solution I found was to set the store to sell to no countries and create a site wide notice.

I activated the plugin, set today's date as the start date (along with an end date) and selected the setting to disable the ecommerce functions. Then I entered the button text etc. and clicked save. Absolutely nothing happened. I repeated this process with the "vacation mode" setting turned on instead and still nothing happened. I was hoping this would work so I could buy the premium version so I could automatically disable the ability to purchase during the hours that I'm closed each day, but it doesn't work.
