Support of "WooCommerce PayPal Checkout Gateway" is ending the 1st of march 2022, we are summoned to use this plugin instead (WooCommerce PayPal Payments) but it is impossible to proceed a payment. Every time you want to valide an order, the paypal window appear/disapper in a second and the client is informed that "someting went wrong". Tried on v1.6.1, tried on v1.6.2 (that was supposed to fix the problem) but it is buggy/messy plugin, DON'T USE IT !!!

Hey Joost van de Vijver. Why don't you respond to all the bad reviews? Your plugin is unfortunately very very bad. I tried it a few months ago and am currently afraid to use it live. I am afraid that in March 2022 only this plugin can be used and I can no longer offer Paypal in my store. Please deal with the many bad reviews. Or cancel your plans with this plugin.

Paypal payments, which is pushed and suggested and urged to upgrade to almost everywhere - both on woocommerce and paypal's side - has a severe limitation: without paypal enabling "reference transactions" on your account it doesn't work with subscriptions. And paypal doesn't just enable that for all, they are picky and have a opaque criteria for allowing you to have that or not... some say it depends on your volume of sales, but still - having been declined the request for some large production site - the entry bar in the club seems quite high! Will woocommerce handle those loads? The old Paypal Checkout Gateway will end support in march 2022, plus it was also buggy and we could never figure out some issues with it that would make it work on our test environment but not on the production/live one. The even older, unsupported, Paypal standard (disabled and hidden as from woo 5.5 but that can be re-enabled with a hack is, so far, the only partially working solution - altough it is also buggy with regards to termination of subs and it relies on the old billing subscription api's which have the schedule and the plans on paypal's side, therefore preventing plan switching. This is the story with subscriptions and paypal. A sad one. Note that woocommerce subscription is a paid/premium plugin. woo-branded payment gateways should treat subscriptions as first class citizens, not as an afterthought.

This is typial woocommerce - spend premium on their select plugins only to find out the basic (and most critical plugins) don't work. I spent weeks communicating with their support, but after intially being very helpful they realised that they couldn't solve the issues with this plugin and bascially left it at that. So full of errors and in no way ready to be released, let alone replace the other paypal payment gateway.

I put off installing this plugin based on the terrible reviews, tried a plugin from a different source and it wasn't quite right. Spoke to someone who had been using the new PayPal Payments plugin and working fine so gave it a spin. I have two sites running on Woocommerce with the old Woocommerce PayPal Checkout Gateway plugin that had been working fine and installed the new Woocommerce PayPal Payments plugin right over the top of it. It installed on both sites easily and works absolutely fine so far. If this post is not updated within a few days it's still working fine!

Appears you have taken a functioning plugin and replaced it with a non functioning one. We've had to revert to the old plugin to accept Paypal on our site. Can't believe Woocommerce would attach their name to such junk. This fiasco has cost us a lot in customer reputation.
