cURL error 7

Hallo

Ich bekomme folgende Fehlermeldungen aus dem WordPress bericht zum Webseiten-Zustand nicht in den Griff.

kritische Probleme
– Die REST-API hat einen Fehler gefunden
– Ihre Website konnte eine Loopback-Anfrage nicht abschliessen

empfohlene Verbesserungen
– Ein geplantes Ereignis ist fehlgeschlagen
– Hintergrund-Updates funktionieren möglicherweise nicht richtig

Es wird jeweils dieser Fehler angezeigt:
cURL error 7: Failed to connect to bacher-trauerportal.ch port 443: Connection refused (http_request_failed)

Woran kann dies Liegen? ich habe über diverse Fälle mit ähnlichen Problemen gelesen habe aber nirgends eine Lösung gefunden die für mich funktioniert.

Ich habe Testweise alle Plugins deaktiviert und auf ein Standard Theme gewechselt. Ausserdem habe ich auch alle Modifikationen an .htaccess und functions.php entfernt.
Das Problem hat aber auch bei einer quasi «nackten» installation weiterbestanden.

Firewall scheint auch nicht die Ursache zu sein.
Die Seite läuft auf einem Virtual private Server – der Hosting-Provider konnte mir leider bisher nicht weiterhelfen
