Pages & Media not displaying despite count – Media Sync shows files

    Hi everyone,
    I’m experiencing a strange issue in the WordPress backend:

    Under “Pages”, it says 223 pages are published – but none of them are listed.
    The same happens in the Media Library: the counter shows the correct number of items, but no media is visible.

    However, when I use the Media Sync plugin, I can browse and see all uploaded files sorted by month – so the files are definitely there.

    What I’ve tried so far:
    – Deactivated all plugins
    – Cleared all caches (WP Fastest Cache, Autoptimize, etc.)
    – Theme was not changed
    – Checked the database (no errors reported by plugins)
    – No visible PHP or WordPress errors
    – I have a full backup but would prefer not to roll back blindly to a May version

    Does anyone have an idea what could be causing this?
    Could it be related to user roles, filters in wp-admin, database issues, or REST API access?

    I’d be very grateful for any tips!
