Htr Tech Product Importer makes bulk WooCommerce product uploads fast. Upload a CSV or Excel file with your own column names, check the matched columns, and import hundreds of products in one go.
Free features
- Import from CSV (comma, semicolon or tab separated) and Excel (.xlsx) files
- Common column names matched automatically, the rest picked from a list, with a preview before anything is imported
- Simple and variable products: parent/variation rows, one row per variation, or option columns such as Color and Size
- Shopify and WooCommerce product exports (including variants) are recognised automatically
- Optional global attributes (Products > Attributes) that work with shop filters
- Warns about duplicates before importing, lists them, and lets you remove any with one click
- Updates existing products (matched by SKU, source link or name) instead of creating duplicates
- Downloads product and variation images into the media library, once per image
- Creates nested categories („Clothing > T-Shirts“) and tags
- Runs in small batches, so large files don’t time out
- Download the checked data as a clean CSV
Pro features
- Import from another website: paste a product, category or shop link and the plugin collects the products, including variations. Shopify and WooCommerce stores are read from their public product feeds; other sites are read with AI.
- Match columns with AI for files with unusual headers
- Works with your own OpenAI, Claude (Anthropic) or Gemini (Google) API key
Only import content you have the right to use.
External services
The free version of this plugin connects to external servers only to download product images from the image URLs contained in the files you import.
The Pro version can also connect to these services. They are used only when you start a website import, click „Match columns with AI“, or click „Test saved settings“:
- The website you enter for a website import. The plugin requests the pages of that site (and, for Shopify or WooCommerce stores, their public product feed) to read product data.
- OpenAI API (api.openai.com), if selected as the AI provider. Sent: the text, links and image URLs of the web pages being imported, or your file’s column names and first three rows for AI column matching. Terms of use, privacy policy.
- Anthropic API (api.anthropic.com), if Claude is selected. Sent: the same data as above. Terms of service, privacy policy.
- Google Gemini API (generativelanguage.googleapis.com), if Gemini is selected. Sent: the same data as above. Terms of service, privacy policy.
Licensing and updates are handled by Freemius. If you opt in, or when you activate a Pro license, basic site and plugin data is sent to Freemius (api.freemius.com). Terms, privacy policy.

Installation
- Install and activate WooCommerce.
- Install this plugin from Plugins > Add New, or upload the zip file, and activate it.
- Go to Products > AI Importer.
- Choose CSV or Excel, upload your file, check the column matching and click Import products.

Which file formats are supported?

CSV, TSV and Excel .xlsx (first worksheet). Old .xls files need to be saved as .xlsx or .csv first.

How do I import variable products?

Give every row of the same product the same value in a column matched to „Parent“ (for example the parent SKU or a Shopify handle). Put each variation’s options in a column matched to „Variation“, written as
Color: Red; Size: M, or map separate option columns to „Variation option“. A sample file is linked on the import screen. -
Will importing the same products twice create duplicates?

No. When you click Import products, the plugin first lists every product that is already in your store (same SKU, same source link, or the same name when there is no SKU) and every product that appears twice in the import. Remove any of them with the × button, or keep them: kept products update the existing ones, or are skipped if „Update products that already have the same SKU“ is off. Variations are matched by SKU or attribute values.

Does the free version send my data anywhere?

Your file is read on your own server, and the plugin only downloads the image URLs contained in it. Licensing runs through Freemius, which receives basic site data only if you opt in. See „External services“ for details and for the Pro features.

Where do I get an AI API key? (Pro)

From OpenAI, Anthropic or Google AI Studio. You can store it in the settings or, more securely, in wp-config.php, for example
define( 'AIPI_OPENAI_KEY', 'sk-...' );.
