I was looking for a good FAQ plug-in for our organizations intranet. We were using a different component, but it had no search functionality. Also, there was no way to display nested categories. I started looking some more and found Echo Knowledge Base. I don't why I hadn't found it sooner, but I am so glad that I did. I can't believe what you get out of the box! The visual configuration editor has had a lot of thought put into the design and the free core component gives you EVERYTHING you need to have a fully functioning Knowledge Base / FAQ. If you want to expand the functionality, the add-on components are very reasonably priced, with special bundle pricing. Some other author's plug-ins charge many times more for ad-on enhancements. Also, my inquiry regarding add-ons was answered very quickly. I recommend this excellent component without reservation.

Congratulations and thank your for your efforts. ı needed no support with your three Add Ons, they work perfectly, this is first time with a plugin for me without problem so far.

The video shows how you can customize and change a lot of things, but you really do not have many options out of the box on the free version. That is not a real big deal since after all... it is free, but they segment out every item into a "per site" upgrade of $25. For instance: In order to make your search look good and maybe search 2 different "knowledge base" items, you get to pay $50 for just one website. They break down the "Add-ons" into about a half dozen individual packages, so you might be paying $150 to get the items displayed in the video. That said, it has better results for what search terms an average individual might put into the search field than many. I tried Relevanssi, and was very much disappointed. Still... maybe a Google custom search for you website is the best way to really do intelligent search and get the most out of your site results....?
