Beschreibung

Google Analytics ist vorkonfiguriert um sich an das neue EU-Datenschutzgesetzt (DSGVO) zu halten und bietet darüberhinaus weitere umfangreiche Einstellungen.

Mit diesem Plugin können Sie Google Analytics konform zum EU-Recht datenschutzkonform integrieren. Dazu müssen Sie nur Ihre Google Analytics ID in die allgemeinen Einstellungen einfügen. Andere Einstellungen (z. B. AnonymizeIP) sind entsprechend vorkonfiguriert und müssen nur geändert werden, wenn sie benötigt werden oder wenn Erweiterungen gewünscht werden.

Für eine datenschutzkonforme Integration müssen Sie die Verwendung von Google Analytics in Ihrer Datenschutzerklärung klären. Zusätzlich muss eine Möglichkeit zur Deaktivierung von Google Analytics geschaffen werden. Für die Abmeldung können Sie den im Tab Allgemein, Punkt 3 beschriebenen Shortcode verwenden.

In den erweiterten Einstellungen können Funktionen von Google Analytics aktiviert werden. Entsprechende Informationen finden Sie in den Einstellungen.

Installation

  1. Lade das komplette Verzeichnis nach /wp-content/plugins/
  2. Aktivieren Sie das Plugin über „Plugins > Installierte Plugins“ in Ihrem WordPress-Backend
  3. Gehen Sie zu „Einstellungen“ und „Google Analytics“, um das Plugin zu konfigurieren

I was looking for other plugins to handle cookie management for a small website. And this plugin has all it needs: it greates a cusotmizable pop-up, it handles the according scripts to deny / allow tracking and it even integrates google analytics without having to add script manually. And the biggest plus: it is for free. What comes a little short is the variety of layouts and positions. And because I don't like the hovering button, I miss an alternative way to show the cookie pop-up again.

I had earlier expressed criticism about this plugin. First via their support, which partly fell on deaf ears. After that, I voiced my critique here and was heard. I want to be fair and revise my rating after the developers have removed ads from the dashboard, as described below. Since everything else works really well, this is one of the best GDPR-Plugins out there. You should give it a try, if you are using Google Analytics. Imagine this: One of your editors is about to export the newest gravity forms entries (so a totally different plugin) and suddenly has a huge advertisement banner displayed for Bajorat media (the developer behind this plugin), right on top of the backend display, outside any settings page of this particular plugin. And the first thing your editor thinks: This shouldn't be there. Did we get hacked? And now imagine how the rest of the day goes for the dev who gets a call right after. Backend ads like that are very big no go! Will have to replace this plugin.
